Films must be submitted to the vetting and selection committee in time to allow for review and potential revisions. This gives filmmakers the opportunity to make any requested changes to be considered for official festival selection.
If you are considering submitting a film, we ask that you read this page in its entirety as it contains critical information about film content guidelines and entry instructions.
For any additional questions or concerns, you may reach out to us via email at gccluxmeafilmfest@gmail.com.
Content Guidelines
The Lux Mea Film Festival is dedicated to expressing and exploring the human condition through the power of the visual story. We focus on redemptive storytelling that places special value on spiritual truths illustrated through the struggles, joys, tragedies, and miracles human beings experience. Although we are certainly open to diverse interpretations of this human experience, we will focus on stories that avoid being, in any way, gratuitously profane, explicit, violent or obscene.
Submissions should not only reflect a winsome humanity but also a respect for our campus culture, biblical values and the mission of Grove City College. We screen Lux Mea films for a broad audience of not only Grove City College students, but also a historical constituency and a growing community of guests representing a wide age range of ages and backgrounds. All films should point clearly to the truth about what it means to be a human being made in the image of God.
Entries are vetted for acceptance into the festival at the sole discretion of the Grove City College Communication Arts faculty. Final judging for awards is done by industry professionals for all listed categories except Audience Favorite.
